The winners are judged by a “Dragons’ Den” style panel of industry experts and buyers with the winners in each category were revealed at the opening of The Hardware Show on the morning of Sunday the 24th, with the Overall winner announced that evening at The President’s Ball. About the Judges

Chairperson – Hugh Wallace MRIAI FIDI 

The Hardware Show 2022 is delighted to present Hugh Wallace as the Chairman of the Innovation Award judges.

Hugh Wallace is a well-respected, award-winning architect and founding partner of Douglas Wallace Consultants (40 years ago). Hugh has a passion for creative design that engages with its audience to create conversation and comment. He believes that good architecture is essential to create social cohesion and enhance our enjoyment of our landscape and living environment whether in the city or country side. It’s about creating a smile on our faces – creating a sense of place and belonging.
Hugh’s excitement at being involved as a judge in RTE’s Home of the Year is palpable as he opens the door to the most extraordinary homes in Ireland and seeing the creativity that abounds.  He is also the presenter of RTE’s The Great House Revival, his other passion, the restoration of our architectural heritage from the humble farm buildings to the great houses of Ireland.

The Great House Revival and Home of the Year returned to RTE in February this year.

Keith Giblin – Allied Merchants Buying Association

Keith Giblin is CEO of Allied Merchants Buying Association.

Keith focussed on finance in his university education, graduating from DCU with a BA in Accountancy and Finance in 2001. Keith worked in Fund Management with BISY’s and JP Morgan for 3 years before transitioning to Import and Distribution for 5 years and in 2009 moved to the merchant and retail industry providing margin software applications, consultancy and margin development programmes to businesses.

In 2011 Keith began working with the founding members to form Allied Merchants Buying Association and became CEO in 2014.

 

Pat Moore – Chadwicks

Pat Moore has worked in the building materials sector for the past 30 years. He began his career in Atlantic Homecare and Woodies before moving to the merchanting side of the business with Heiton Buckley and Chadwicks. Pat is currently the Chadwicks Group Category Director with full purchasing responsibility. He is also responsible for analysing market data and insights to determine construction industry and consumer trends which informs the Groups purchasing strategies.

 

 

Lourda Kildea Topline

Lourda is the Director of Purchasing & Marketing with Amalgamated Hardware PLC since October 2021, coming to her role with 14 years’ experience in similar positions within the Home, Garden, DIY and Heavy Build sector.

She has a well-honed acumen for business, coupled with an MSc in Management Practice from Trinity College Dublin. As well as hands on experience of the complete supply chain, from product design (own brand), packaging, sourcing suppliers, negotiation, relationship management, and marketing through to retailing and selling.

This experience is born from a progressive career spanning 25 years plus, which includes, Senior buyer roles with Dunnes Stores, Associate Director (Head of buying) with Roches Stores, Purchasing Director, and other Marketing and Consulting roles.

Senan Foley – Glanbia Agribusiness

Senan Foley is the Head of Retail, Glanbia Ireland

Senan Foley has over 20 years of retail and executive-level leadership experience. He joined Glanbia in 2005 having previously worked in Atlantic Homecare. He developed Glanbia’s CountryLife concept before taking up the role of Head of Lean Business Excellence delivering significant cost savings across the business. Senan now heads up Glanbia Ireland’s network of 52 Agri & Retail Branches.
